What's the best RPG you've ever played?

Fair enough. The actual thing is better. I admit that. I just do it for convenience. I can either wait three days for the console and game to turn up from e-bay or download it in five minutes from a reliable website I know of.

I see your point. :p

It all comes down to preference, I suppose. I'm just happy no one gets in your face about getting the game or downloading it.

Why would they? I'm not even sure downloading old games is illegal. Especially the emulators which is just software that runs the games.

I don't know. Some people are really picky on how they do things, and sometimes want others to follow in their footsteps. It's weird.

The emulator itself is not illegal. It's software that is because they are taken from real games. The exception is that you've purchased the games in the past, much like how song files work.

Final Fantasy VII gets a bit slow in places so I wouldn't recommend it as your first Final Fantasy. The Gameboy advance remake of the original is good. Really hard though. X is nice and easy, a good place to start I think. II on the Super Nintendo is good too. There's no remake of that though. I also think VI is quite cool. They remade that one on the GBA too.
I'm not sure how you find it slow. From what I remember you're doing missions as soon as the game starts. I also disagree that X is an easier game to start playing, mainly because of the battle setup. In VII materia is pretty simple.. just click and place and you have magic. In X you had to use the sphere grid thing that confused the hell out of me at first. It took me a bit of playing through the game to really understand it and by the time I figured it out I wished I had done things differently.

Both are good games though, but as far as a first to try I'd recommend VII. VIII is even easier than both, but be careful not to level up more than you need to. xD

Yo

I'd also say VII but that's probably because it was the first one that I played and sorta set the bar imo for the FF games.

a few other RPG's would be Fallout 1/2/3, Digimon World, Pokemon, and if it counts Harvest Moon.
There's loads more but I'm failing to remember them.

Ever tried Paper Mario? Not Super Paper Mario (that doesn't count) but, the other two? I find them very entertaining.

My friend has been showing me some music for Final Fantasy. I really like some of it. A shame I wasn't paying attention to the title of the video. Now I can't fight it again. *sad*

I'll be sure to check out more videos, and look some things up tonight. This school computer doesn't want me on Google, it seems.

I think VII is slow because so far there's been mostly just talking. The most action I've come across so far is the first attack on Shinra HQ. After that they just don't seem to shut up. But I haven't gotten too far yet so I'll have to wait and see if I actually get to do anything important. I only found the sphere grid on X confusing because my first copy of the game was in French for some reason. It was much clearer when I got an English version. It was stupid how a French game had no other language choices but the English version had English, French, Spanish, Italian and German language options.

I've never played VIII. I jumped straight from VII which got broken, to IX.

Yeah it may come across that way, but a lot of RPG's do that to build the story. It may be less noticeable though in X because they actually talk lol

I wasn't even aware it had all those languages LOL it'd be interesting to play through again in another language.

I wish Final Fantasy XIII had a Japanese dialog option. Lost Odysee did but that game wasn't great.

I would try out that feature, but I would be scared of accidentally deleting my data, haha. When you pour hours into a game, you don't want to lose it all because you couldn't read the language you slected.

That's silly.

Well it's only the voices that would be in Japanese, not anything else.

Nah. It's not fail. It's pretty good, if you can get into it.

I think it matters on personal preference the most, personally.
